Halifax offers 'webchat' insurance support
23 December 2008 16:09
Customers with Halifax are to be offered the opportunity to access instant online insurance support with a new utility.
Using the lender's webchat feature, policyholders or those looking to obtain a quote will now be able to speak to an online sales adviser.
According to Halifax, the service has already provided some success, with more potential customers completing the online quote procedure.
Sarah Cowx, head of marketing for Halifax home insurance, noted that there had been a sizeable increase in the number of individuals finalising the quotation process and buying online since the webchat tool had been launched.
She added that the facility allowed customers to get help instantly, rather than having to pick up the phone and call the bank.
A recent study by Halifax found that about 40 per cent of British homeowners are unaware as to how much their home and contents insurance covers them for.
