Insurance provider in goodwill gesture

26 November 2008 15:36

One generous insurance provider had opted to increase the amount of financial protection it offers over the month of December.

Saga has announced that throughout the month the amount of cover offered its home and motor insurance packages will increase significantly.

Customers of the firm's home insurance product will see their contents protection rise by 10 per cent, while those who hold a motor insurance policy will benefit from a double in personal belongings cover to £2,000.

Roger Ramsden, chief executive of Saga Services, said that despite it being the season of goodwill, there remained a high number of undesirable types in the world who were willing to rob the presents from under our Christmas trees.

He added that because of this his company had decided to provide an extra layer of protection at a time of year when people generally had more expensive items in their homes and cars.

As part of Saga's protection policies, the cover offered in its home insurance products also rises around other important religious festivals.
