Insurer aims to spread Christmas cheer

11 December 2008 17:05

The insurer MORE TH>N is hoping to inject further festivities into Christmas this year by upping its coverage.

Despite the gloomy financial climate, Britons are still likely to have a large number of gifts and presents for friends and family stored in their homes, according to the group.

In response to this, the company is aiming to alleviate any worries regarding theft or burglary over the yuletide period by offering an additional ten per cent in household cover.

Head of home insurance at MORE TH>N, Keith Maxwell, commented that the poor economic situation had made Christmas cheer more vital than ever this year.

He added that since the company's insurance policy covered outdoor lighting and included an extra ten per cent of cover this year, it would hopefully go some way to making sure people enjoy the festive season just as much as any other year.

Payment protection insurance provider Egg was recently forced to pay a fine of £721,000 by the FSA.gov.uk">Financial Services Authority after miss-selling the product for nearly three years.
