Punk legend to front new insurance campaign

2 January 2009 18:16

A new multi-million ad campaign to promote an online car insurance company is to be fronted by a punk legend.

Iggy Pop, who began his career in the late 1960s with his band The Stooges, will be the face of swiftcover.com's new Get a Life campaign.

The £25 million marketing strategy will feature the singer explaining how much easier it is to do things via the internet.

Due to be launched on Sunday (January 4th), the campaign will also highlight how easy it can be to store important documents online.

In one ad, for example, Iggy will be seen thinking about how long it has been since he last saw his birth certificate.

Another ad will centre on how quickly things can be done online, such as looking up an insurance quote.

Tina Shortle, marketing director at swiftcover.com, asserted that the insurer is very pleased about the new campaign and hopes that it will help to positively promote the firm.
